KILPATRICKS’ PRAYER LETTER
May 17-23, 2012
PRAYER FOCUS FOR THE WEEK: We are back home after some great experiences. May By The Bay was a spiritually enriching time for us as we listened to great Bible studies and preaching each day. We always enjoy sharing about Zambia, and the retirees from Baptist churches were very open to hearing about the Baptist Global Response In-Home Care Kits. We especially enjoyed being with Fred and Joy Allen, retired missionaries from Zambia, and Jim and Jane Howard, who served as volunteer teachers at the Seminary in Zambia in 1993. They are also the parents of Mike Howard, missionary to Zambia.

FROM THE KILPATRICKS
May 16, 2012
Friday morning we were in Waco to attend the graduation brunch and the graduation service for George W. Truett Seminary, which was that evening. It was a wonderful occasion. For Andy and Beth it is eight years and three master's degrees later from their arrival in Waco in 2004. God's timing is always perfect; and as they move into the next place God has for them, we know that His timing will continue to be just right. We appreciate all who have prayed and continue to pray for them on this journey.
The new missionaries to Africa are finishing up their 40/40 training this week and leaving for their countries of service on Friday. Thank God for all that they have learned during these past weeks that will enable them to serve as missionaries in the years ahead. Pray for safe returns to their countries and for a quick settling in for language study.
We had an email this morning that Baptist Global Response will be updating their information about the In-Home Care Kits, IHCK, on the website. She wrote, "As prayer strategist I have been able to read tons of testimonies of how these kits have been used across Africa and the way God is blessing and opening doors." We are so grateful that many who recognize the importance of the buckets in God's Kingdom work in Africa are responding to what God is leading them to do. The secretary at our church put together a promotional brochure for the IHCK project that we had for the presentation at May By The Bay. These brochures are available for anyone who wants to promote the buckets in your church or area. There are requests from missionaries for 6,000 buckets. We need to get some more on the way. Please continue to pray for the safe and fast arrival for the container of buckets going to Zambia.
If any of you are wanting to make a difference in the life of a child here in the US, we highly recommend the Kids' Hope USA program for churches who want to participate in the lives of elementary school children who will benefit from having a mentor. We have two more weeks this school year with our children. Our mentors have seen good results as we pray for our students and spend time with them each week. We are praying that God will protect them and reveal himself to them in various ways during the summer. We are also beginning to pray for what our program will look like next year.
Thank you for praying and being a blessing to us and others.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
BAPTIST GLOBAL RESPONSE IN-HOME CARE KITS FOR AFRICA
The BGR In-Home Care Kit is a five-gallon plastic bucket filled with medical and hygiene supplies. Items in this kit will make the caregivers’ tasks much easier, but more importantly, will ease the suffering of the ones affected by the illness. Our local partners in Africa distribute the buckets in a way that gives dignity and hope to each family receiving a kit.
This statement describes the nature and purpose of the Baptist Global Response in-home care kits being sent to Africa. The project is logistically challenging for the limited BGR staff, and BGR has enlisted churches and individuals to assist in promoting and implementing the project.
First Baptist Church of Jacinto City, Texas has agreed to be a “Champion” church to coordinate the kit project. Our responsibility is to assist individuals and churches wishing to provide kits. We are helping in four ways:
1) Collecting funds from people wishing to donate to the kit project, buying the supplies and packing the buckets—each kit costs about $100.00. All donations are appreciated and tax deductible. Make checks payable to First Baptist Church of Jacinto City.
2) Receiving packed kits from individuals and churches. Those donating kits must pay for shipping from their location to the First Baptist Church of Jacinto City. Baptist Global Response pays for the overseas shipping.
3) Packing the buckets into a container at the shipper for shipment overseas and
4) Promoting the project by speaking to interested parties or answering questions via email, post or over the phone.
Completed buckets may be shipped pre-paid to:

The Kilpatricks helped coordinate the distribution of the In-Home Care Kits in Zambia, where they served as missionaries with the International Mission Board for 40 years. They have recently retired from missionary service.
